Thai PBS Journalist Fellowship Program

Thai PBS World is the English-langue news service of the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), Thailand’s first public broadcaster. With a slogan "We Bring Thailand to the World", it has a mission to broadcast news, insightful information, and viewpoints about Thailand to the world.

Scholarship Coverage

Three (3) scholarships are open for application annually. Recipients of the scholarship will receive expenditure support as follows:

  1. Round-trip economy class airfare.
  2. Accommodation expenses throughout the project duration.
  3. Allowance for the 2-month stay in Thailand.
  4. Expenses incurred due to assigned duties.
Applicant Qualification

Call for entries will be made through Thai PBS partner organizations in the ASEAN region, as well as through Thai and international media associations. The targeted applicants are media personnel with at least 3 years of experience in the field and possessing strong English language skills for both speaking and writing. Scholarship applicants will be required to undergo a selection process involving both qualification assessment and an online interview.

Primary Activities

  1. Perform duties as media practitioners alongside the editorial team at Thai PBS World.
  2. Work hand in hand with Thai PBS World team in news reporting, conducting interviews, article writing, and learning to utilize media technology to produce and present news contents.
  3. Participate in various activities organized by Thai PBS.
  4. Engage in mutual learning and exchange with Thai government agencies, academic organizations, media associations, and the private sector with an aim of learning about the different aspects of the Thai society, such as history, culture, politics, foreign policy, media landscape, and the role of civil society.
